Smart Classrooms Revolutionize Learning in Rajasthan

Rajasthan has made significant strides in improving its education system, focusing on accessibility, quality and infrastructure in state-run schools. The state government has implemented various initiatives under schemes like Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and Rajasthan Education Initiative to enhance literacy rates and bridge the rural-urban education gap. The state government aims to provide quality education in English to students from all backgrounds.

Additionally, the government has prioritized digital learning, vocational training and teacher training programmes to elevate learning outcomes. Despite this several challenges are prevalent like high dropout rates in rural areas.

Recently, the state government made efforts to upgrade classrooms and introduce tech-enabled curriculum to schools situated in rural areas across Rajasthan. The aim of the project was to deliver a comprehensive digital learning experience that enhances student learning outcomes, improves retention rates and strengthens teacher capacity through an end-to-end holistic digital solution.

Our Solution

In partnership with the Rajasthan government, Ampersand Group initiated the supply and installation of smart classrooms across the state. The project aimed to establish two smart classrooms each in 4,010 schools, empowering students and uplifting communities through technology-driven education.

Each smart classroom was equipped with Interactive Flat Panel Devices (IFPDs) and an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) for seamless learning. These IFPDs are an all-in-one device which combine functionalities of a computer, projector, large screen TV and an audio system all in a single unit. These devices help in making lessons more engaging, simplifying complex concepts and even enabling translations. To ensure uninterrupted access to these advanced learning tools, we also took charge of setting up reliable power backup solutions.

For seamless teaching and learning, we also undertook training of teachers and timely upgradation of E-learning content. By integrating technology into the existing education system, the initiative seeks to create an interactive and adaptive learning environment. Additionally, the use of technology allows students greater control over their learning journey, letting them decide the time, place and pace at which they absorb knowledge.

Our Impact

We established 8,020 smart classrooms, impacting over 12 lakh students with enhanced digital learning experiences. Alongside setting up the infrastructure, the initiative also included extensive teacher training and electrification work to ensure seamless operation of the smart classrooms.

These classrooms can be a game-changer for underdeveloped regions, bridging educational gaps and providing students with better learning opportunities. By integrating technology such as interactive whiteboards, digital content and internet connectivity, smart classrooms make lessons more engaging and accessible, even in remote areas. Digital tools help simplify complex concepts, making it easier for students to understand subjects like math, science and languages.

Additionally, technology-enabled learning prepares students for the digital economy. Early exposure to digital tools builds tech literacy, opening doors to better job opportunities in the future. For communities, smart classrooms can drive social and economic growth by creating a more skilled and educated workforce. They can also promote inclusivity by enabling education for children with disabilities and those from marginalized backgrounds.

The state government has been making continuous efforts to strengthen the public education system. By embracing technology and implementing smart classrooms, students and teachers can be in sync with current teaching and learning methodologies.
