Kavita Kerawalla, Vice Chairperson of the Ampersand Group, is one of the better recognised academic experts and innovators in the country. With over two decades of experience in academia, she holds a deep understanding of the teaching-learning ecosystem, and a vision to transform the world using the power of education. Under her leadership, Ampersand Group’s VIBGYOR schools have expanded their presence to 13 cities, with 39 K12 schools, imparting education under multiple boards of CISCE, CIE and CBSE Boards to 50000+ students, without any compromise on the quality of education across all their branches.

The very same expertise and rich academic experience are the guiding force behind Ampersand’s efforts in the education sector. At Ampersand, Kavita heads Academic Operations for the organisation and its group companies and the team of experts who design curricula for all education-related projects. Age-appropriate content, developed under Kavita’s leadership, is applied in all pre-primary and K12 schools operated and managed by the Ampersand Group and at 900+ government owned, Ampersand managed Balwadis, Anganwadis and creches across the country.

Kavita holds a Master’s degree in Economics and has completed her B.Ed. followed by a PGDEd. M. from NMIMS, Mumbai.

Kavita’s exemplary contributions to the academic field have made her an important thought leader in the education domain, and have earnt her many awards and accolades.

The awards won by her include, Business Leader of the Year (education sector) by ET Now in 2020, Most Innovative Woman of the Year (education sector) at GTF Women's Excellence Awards 2018, Times Power Women Award 2018 , Woman Super Achiever Award for Excellence in Education, Coaching and Consulting by Femina, 5th World Woman Leadership Award 2018, Leader in Education Award by International Women Leaders Forum (2017) and Women at Work Leadership Award by Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award (2017). Her greatest achievement, however, lies in the transformative academic enrichment and marked improvements in learning outcomes, both, in VIBGYOR schools, and in the several early childhood and K12 educational projects led by Ampersand Group.
